Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Sixth-ranked Gettysburg used an 11-1 run over a 19:26 span, including 7-0 to start the second half to lift the visiting Bullets over the Stevenson women's lacrosse team Thursday afternoon at Mustang Stadium.
The Mustangs (0-2) have dropped all four meetings against Gettysburg and fall to 2-6 against opponents ranked in the IWLCA Division III Coaches Poll Top 20 Poll dating back to 2014 season.
Junior Brady Heher, who scored a hat trick in the first 8:30 of the contest, put the hosts on the board first with an unassisted tally. The two teams would trade goals until Stevenson put up back-to-back goals for a 5-3 lead with 16:42 remaining in the half.
The Bullets (2-0) stopped the Mustangs momentum with a 4-1 run to end the half, including three points by Abby Baigelman. Baigelman finished the game with eight points on four goals and four assists.
Gettysburg scored four goals to open the second half in a 1:48 span, including the final three in just 28 seconds. Emma Christie had two of those goals while Amanda Borucki had two assists. Christie finished with a game-high six goals on eight shots.
Heher scored her career-best fifth goal of the game at the 21:23 mark to stop the Bullets nine goal run and a 10:25 Stevenson scoring drought. Gettysburg scored seven of its 10 second half goals in the opening 7:07.
Sophomore Hollie Larrimore finished with two goals while junior Tori Bruno dished out three assists. Junior Mackenzie Reese totaled one goal and one assist.
In net, senior Maggie Lawder recorded 12 saves, including nine in the opening half.
The Bullets outshot the hosts, 41-16 while the Mustangs held a slight 17-15 edge in ground balls. Stevenson was also just 11-for-18 on clears, including 5-for-11 in the first half, while also totaling 20 turnovers.
The Mustangs hit the road for four straight game, beginning on Saturday, March 5 at No. 3 Franklin & Marshall. Opening draw is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
