Box Score REISTERSTOWN, Md. - The Stevenson men's ice hockey team was held to a season low one goal for the second consecutive game as the Mustangs dropped an ECAC West contest versus Manhattanville, 5-1, Saturday evening at Reisterstown Sportsplex.
The Mustangs (4-4-0, 2-4-0 ECAC West) recorded less than 30 shots for the fourth time in the last five games. The team is just 1-4 in those games compared to 3-0 when totaling at least 30 shots and 1-4 when they do not score first.
Adam Platt scored his first of three goals with 4:03 remaining in the opening period and 26 seconds remaining on the power play. Platt scored three special team goals in the game, including both of the Valiants (5-3-0, 4-2-0 ECAC West) power play goals.
The visitors scored twice in the opening 5:46 of the second period, including a strike just 33 seconds in. Both goals came at even strength
After the Mustangs failed to score on a five-minute major, freshman Mark Bowen made a few nice moves to get past the Manhattanville defense before scoring one-on-one with goalkeeper Tyler Feaver for his first career goal.
Classmate Alfred Panelin-Borg was credited with the assist for his third of the year and first since the season opener.
Platt scored a power play goal with 6:45 remaining in regulation before completing his hat track with an empty net shorthanded strike.
Junior Jacob Caffrey finished with 28 saves. Freshman Christian Ripley recorded the Mustangs lone blocked shot.
Stevenson returns to action on Friday, November 25 when the Mustangs travel to Buffalo State for a two-game non-conference series. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
