Gieselman, Borgerding Lead Mustangs In Season-Opening Loss

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Stevenson men's tennis junior Bryan Gieselman and freshman Zach Borgerding posted straight-set victories as the Mustangs dropped their season-opener, 6-3, versus Penn State Harrisburg Sunday afternoon at PSU's Tennis Complex.

Gieselman won his No. 1 singles match easily, 6-4, 6-3, while Borgerding picked up his first collegiate victory with a hard fought 7-6(2), 6-1 win.

The match came down to the No. 2 singles match where senior Conrad Ellis was able to force a decisive third set but could not recover from an early break of serve, falling 4-6, 6-2, 2-6.

The duo of Gieselman and Ellis was the lone doubles win for the Mustangs as the pair won 8-4.

Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, October 17 when the Mustangs compete in the MAC Commonwealth Individual Tournament.
