Box Score GLASSBORO, N.J. - Stevenson field hockey freshman Talia Parrish recorded five saves in her first-career start while classmate Alexis Young scored her first career goal as the Mustangs dropped a non-conference contest versus Rowan, 7-3, Wednesday evening at Coach Wackar Stadium.
The Mustangs (0-6) scored a season-high three goals, including two by junior Rosemarie Neiva, but Rowan's seven goals was also the highest goal total Stevenson has allowed since Sept. 27, 2014.
Johanna James scored back-to-back goals for the Profs (3-2), who are receiving votes in the latest NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll, as the hosts built a 3-0 lead in the opening 11:20. Neiva scored two-straight goals of her own to cut Stevenson's lead to just one just 1:04 into the second half.
Freshmen Marissa Hoffman and Sara McVey picked up their first career points with assists on Neiva's goals.
Rowan extended its lead back to three with goals in the 47th and 50th minutes. Young followed with her first points as a Mustang after converting on her own rebound.
The Profs held a 18-14 advantage in shots and 11-6 edge in penalty corners.
Stevenson concludes its seven-game road trip on Saturday, September 19 when the Mustangs travel to Shenandoah beginning at 1:00 p.m.
