MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - The Stevenson men's tennis teams' season came to an end as the second-seeded Mustangs (9-7) fell to top-seeded Messiah in the Commonwealth Conference championship, 5-1. The victory gave Messiah their second straight conference title.
The lone victory for Stevenson came from juniors James Bishoff and Peter Hoblitzell, who won their No. 2 doubles match 8-3 for their 12th straight doubles win.
Sophomore Bryan Gieselman and junior Conrad Ellis dropped their No. 1 doubles match 8-2, while junior Tony Beres and sophomore Nicholas Hooke fell by the same 8-2 score in No. 3 doubles.
Ellis won the first set of his No. 3 singles match, but would go on to drop the final two sets in a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 loss.
Ellis ends the season with an 11-6 singles record, while Bishoff and Hoblitzell finish with marks of 10-5 and 11-4, respectively.
