STEVENSON, Md - The Stevenson men's tennis team opened up its Commonwealth Conference schedule with a 5-4 win over Alvernia at the Greenspring Tennis Courts. Junior Conrad Ellis won in straight sets over his No. 3 singles opponent after teaming up with Bryan Gieselman to win their No. 1 doubles match over Alvernia's Dan Minnich and Aaron Yuros, 8-6.
Juniors James Bishoff and Peter Hoblitzell were winners in their No. 2 doubles match 8-5 over Alvernia's Ben Daubenspeck and Jake Conapitski. Bishoff overcame a first set loss to win in No. 2 singles, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
The other victory for the Mustangs came from Hoblitzell, who won his No. 4 singles match in straight sets over Alvernia's Kyle Clark, 6-3, 6-2.
The Mustangs compete in their first conference road match when they face Albright on Tuesday, April 7th at 3 p.m.
