STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis team dropped its first Commonwealth Conference match of the season in a 6-3 loss to Messiah. The Mustangs (7-5, 4-1 MAC) were lead by sophomore Bryan Gieselman who won his third match out of the last four, winning in No. 1 singles over Messiah's Mike Brookhart in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
Junior Peter Hoblitzell picked up the other singles victory, overcoming a first set loss to defeat his No. 4 singles opponent in three sets.
Hoblitzell teamed up with junior James Bishoff to pick up their seventh straight doubles victory, defeating their No. 2 doubles opponents by the score of 8-2.
Gieselman and junior Conrad Ellis dropped a close match in No. 1 doubles by the score of 8-6. Ellis also dropped a hard-fought match in No. 2 singles, 7-5, 7-5.
The Mustangs compete in their final non-conference match of the season when they compete at Juniata on Friday, April 24 at 3:00 p.m.
