FREDERICK, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis team remained undefeated in Commonwealth Conference play by defeating host Hood College, 6-3. Leading the way for the Mustangs (7-3, 4-0 MAC) was sophomore Bryan Gieselman who teamed up with junior Conrad Ellis to take their No. 1 doubles match by the score of 8-2. Gieselman would then go onto win a first set tiebreak in No. 1 singles before taking the match in straight sets, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.
The victory for Gieselman and Ellis was their fifth out of six doubles matches this spring.
Ellis won his fourth straight match after defeating Hood's Alex Sexton in No. 3 singles by the score of 6-4, 6-1, while junior James Bishoff won his sixth in a row after an impressive 6-1, 6-1 victory in No. 2 singles.
Junior Peter Hoblitzell took his No. 4 singles match in straight sets, while also winning in No. 2 doubles alongside Bishoff, sweeping their opponents, 8-0.
The Mustangs compete next at Elizabethtown on Thursday, April 16th at 4 p.m.
