READING, Pa. - Led by the junior duo of Peter Hoblitzell and James Bishoff, the Stevenson men's tennis team won its third-straight Commonwealth Conference match with a 5-4 victory over host Albright Sunday afternoon at the Albright Tennis Courts.
The Mustangs (6-3, 3-0 MAC), who have six of their last seven matches, posted their sixth win this season, tying the teams second win total since 2008-09 when Stevenson totaled seven wins.
Hoblitzell won his No. 4 singles match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2 before posteing a doubles win at No. 2 alongside Bishoff, 8-1. Bishoff also posted a straight-sets win at No. 2 singles for his fifth-straight singles victory.
Sophomore Nicholas Hooke triumphed in his No. 6 singles match in straight sets, while junior Conrad Ellis won the tie-break in the first set of his No. 3 singles match, 7-0, before taking the second set 6-1.
Sophomore Bryan Gieselman and Ellis took four games in their No. 1 doubles defeat, while Hooke and junior Tony Beres also took four games in their No. 3 doubles loss.
Stevenson returns to action on Tuesday, April 14 when the Mustangs host Immaculata in a non-conference contest beginning at 3:00 p.m.
