Box Score 2 OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Freshman Jasmyn Ogletree hit two home runs and totaled four RBIs while junior Kaitlyn Seger extended her hitting streak to six as the Stevenson softball team split a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader with Lebanon Valley Sunday afternoon at Weinberg-Fine Stadium.
The Mustangs (6-7, 3-1 MAC), who totaled a combined 20 hits on the day, won their fourth-straight with an 8-4 victory in game one before falling 8-5 in game two. The win was also the first for Stevenson in seven all-time meetings with the two-time defending conference champions.
Ogletree broke open a scoreless tie in the third inning with a two-run homer to left field followed by an RBI single by freshman Sabrina Gordon to build a 3-0 lead for the hosts.
Stevenson would add three more runs in the fifth inning as freshman Emily Soller hit a bases loaded sacrifice fly before a two-RBI double down the left field line by senior Stephanie Ayres.
Lebanon Valley (5-9, 2-2 MAC) totaled four hits on four runs and two errors in the sixth inning to cut their deficit to 6-4. But a second two-run homer by Ogletree extended the game to four in the bottom of the inning. Ogletree has totaled three home runs in the past four games.
Senior Briana Pichalski picked up her first win of the season scattering just four hits and totaling four strikeouts while allowing no earned runs.
Gordon finished 2-for-3 with one RBI an a run while freshman Kate Finnen also totaled two hits. As a team, the Mustangs totaled a season-high eight RBIs, six stolen bases and five extra-base hits.
In game two, Stevenson built a 5-0 lead over the first two innings as Seger and Finnen each totaled two RBIs. The Mustangs totaled seven of their 10 hits in those innings.
Trailing 5-4 in the top of the seventh inning, Lebanon Valley totaled four runs including a two-run double up the middle by Jasmine Dutton. The Dutchmen totaled seven hits over the final two innings to erase a three-run deficit.
Finnen went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run in the second game and leads the team with six multi-hit games this season. Meanwhile, junior Tiffany Kahl finished 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
Stevenson returns to action on Wednesday, April1 when the Mustangs travel to second-ranked Salisbury for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
