Box Score 2 OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Freshman Jasmyn Ogletree totaled her first career home run before posting her first career shutout as the Stevenson softball team posted a doubleheader sweep over Arcadia in the Mustangs conference opener Wednesday afternoon at Weinberg-Fine Stadium.
The Mustangs (5-6, 2-0 MAC) posted a 5-4 walk-off victory in the bottom of the seventh in game one before totaling five runs in the fifth inning of game two to take an 8-0 win.
Capped by a homer by Ogletree, Stevenson scored three runs in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead before the Knights (5-7, 0-2 MAC) scored four runs in the top of the fourth to take a one run lead.
A single by junior Laura Welch scored the game-tying run in the sixth inning before an RBI by Ogletree scored junior Tiffany Kahl for the Mustangs third walk-off win of the season.
Freshman Brooke Steinbach posted her first win of the season after allowing no runs in 3.2 innings while striking out a season-high four batters.
Ogletree led four different Mustangs who totaled two hits, including Kahl who was 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs. Freshman Sabrina Gordon finished 2-for-2 with one run.
In game two, Stevenson totaled a run in the first, second and fourth innings before exploding for five in the fifth. Junior Kaitlyn Seger hit an RBI single before senior Stephanie Ayres' double down the left field line scored two more runs.
A sacrifice bunt by Kahl scored Ayres from third to end the game in the fifth inning.
Ogletree allowed just two hits while striking out a season-best five batters to tie her for the conference lead with four wins.
The Mustangs posted a season-best seven RBIs while tying their season-high with 12 hits.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, March 28 when the Mustangs host a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader versus Lebanon Valley. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
