Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's volleyball senior Kyle Wisner totaled a career-high 21 kills and a .385 hitting percentage while senior David Moler totaled 32 assists as the Mustangs swept a non-conference contest versus Lancaster Bible Wednesday at Owings Mills Gymnasium, 25-12, 25-17, 26-24.
Stevenson (12-9) finished the regular season with a 6-4 record at home this year and are 22-8 at home the last three seasons.
Wisner now has 966 kills in his career, leaving him 34 shy of becoming just the fourth player in school history to reach 1,000. With 375 total blocks, he is only two shy of surpassing the school record held by current assistant coach Eddy Klepper.
Wisner totaled 17 of his 21 kills in the first two sets, including nine in the second set, while posting a .577 hitting percentage. As a team, the Mustangs hit .688 in the opening set with 12 kills and one error in 16 attempts while totaling a .523 percentage through the first two.
Stevenson never trailed in the first two sets and posted 27 kills, 19 digs and seven total blocks.
The third set was back and forth with 14 ties and seven lead changes. The Chargers (1-18) took their first lead of the match at 3-2 before extending it to two at 8-6.
A 9-4 run would give the Mustangs a 15-12 advantage before Lancaster Bible used a 5-1 spurt to go back in front 19-18. The two teams would be tied twice more at 21-21 and 24-24, but Stevenson improved its record to 10-2 in three-set matches this season after scoring the final two points on a Charger service error and a kill by junior Anthony Allen.
Freshman Johnny Kimenhour totaled three of his career-high five kills in the third set, adding a block solo. Freshman Alex Klunk finished with three kills and four total block while senior Scott Morantz had a team-high nine kills and his first career kill. Battling injury, senior Wes Richardson appeared in his 81st career match and his 219th set in the first.
Derek Bigley led the Chargers with seven kills and nine digs while Paul Fulbright had three kills and 16 assists.
Stevenson travels to Hunter on Saturday for a tri-match against the host Hawks and No. 1 Stevens.
