GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Stevenson men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Messiah in a non-conference match Thursday afternoon at Criste Courts.
Despite only having three players for the match, the Mustangs still picked up two victories while having to forfeit two doubles and three singles matches.
At No. 1 doubles, senior Anthony Carle and freshman Bryan Gieselman teamed up for the first time this season to pull out an 8-6 win over Messiah's Michael Kovacs and Dustin Innerst.
Junior James Bishoff took his singles match to three sets after losing the first set 2-6 and then winning the next two sets 6-4, 6-1 over Austin Warren. Bishoff picked up his third-consecutive win and seventh this season.
Stevenson returns to action Saturday, April 26 at FDU-Florham in a Freedom Conference match, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Mustangs and Devils are currently tied in the Freedom Conference standings and the winner of Saturday's match will become the third-seeded team for the playoffs.
