Box Score 1 MAHWAH, N.J. - Stevenson men's volleyball junior David Moler and freshman Nathan Ellis were named to the All-Tournament Team at the Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Ramapo College as the 11th-ranked Mustangs finished with a 3-1 record after facing City College of New York and No. 4 SUNY New Paltz on Sunday at the Bradley Center.
Stevenson (4-1) began the second day with a 25-16, 25-14, 25-10 victory over CCNY before dropping its first match of the season, 25-17, 25-18, 25-15 against SUNY New Paltz.
Moler earned All-Tournament Team honors after totaling 8.67 assists per set while adding four kills, two service aces and 16 digs over nine sets. Meanwhile, Ellis posted nine kills and seven total blocks in just five sets to go along with a .615 hitting percentage, two service and two digs.
In the opener against the Beavers (0-3), the Mustangs were led by six kills and four digs from sophomore Wesley Richardson. Freshman Nicholas Gross added five kills, three digs and two block assists while senior Jon Martin and junior Kyle Wisner also had five kills each.
Sophomore Robert Wingert totaled 21 assists while freshman Michael Fehrs had four kills and five of the team's 10 service aces. Ellis totaled two block solos and two block assists.
Stevenson was limited to 22 kills and a .105 hitting percentage against SUNY New Paltz (3-0) while the Hawks hit .309 and totaled 43 kills, led by 16 from Tim Ferriter.
Martin led the team with eight kills and six digs, but also had four reception errors. Sophomore Patrick Schuyler had five kills and five digs while sophomore Kyle Pottiger totaled four kills and four total blocks.
Moler finished with 18 assists and seven digs while senior Adam Thatcher had 10 digs to raise his career total to 1,000 making him the first player in school history to reach the milestone.
Stevenson hosts Penn State Altoona next Saturday, February 1 at Owings Mills Gymnasium beginning at 1:00 p.m.
