Box Score 2 GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Stevenson women's volleyball team won their ninth-straight season opener as the team defeated Rutgers-Camden 25-10, 25-12, 25-16 and Washington (Md.) 25-18, 25-13, 25-10 on day one of the Gettysburg Battlefied Classic at Gettysburg College.
The Mustangs (2-0) are now a perfect 7-0 in season openers under head coach Dave Trumbo and have won 23 out of their last 24 games dating back to September 28, 2012.
Against the Raptors (0-2), sophomore Imani Hudson (Burke, Va./Thomas Edison) led the team with 11 kills while junior Samantha Perillo (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) finished with a team-high 15 digs.
In her first collegiate game, freshman Kristen Brooks (Wilmington, Del./Concord) totaled six kills and three digs. Junior Megan Miller (Middletown, Del./St. Georges Tech) totaled three service aces to go along with her two kills and three digs.
Miller then led the Mustangs versus the Shorewomen (1-1), totaling 14 kills for a .583 attack percentage. Hudson added 10 kills while Brooks added seven.
Senior Christine Isenberg (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) finished with eight kills and 13 digs on the night while fellow senior Jessica Gieselman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) totaled 52 assists. Hudson finished with five total blocks.
Stevenson wraps-up the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic at Gettysburg College on Saturday against Mt. St. Mary (N.Y.) beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Mustangs then take on Shenandoah beginning at 12:00 p.m.
