SALISBURY, Md. - Stevenson softball freshman Molly Hoyt (Parisppany, N.J./Parisppany Hills) and freshman Tiffany Kahl (Glen Burnie, Md./Seton Keough) both went 2-for-3 with one RBI as they Mustangs dropped a non-conference doubleheader with No. 4 Salisbury Sunday at SU Softball Field.
The Mustangs (13-15) dropped the opener 3-0 before falling in game two, 3-2.
They are now 3-8 in one run games this season and 9-15 in two seasons under head coach Joey Lye.
Stevenson managed a season-low one hit against the Seagulls (30-2) in game one, a fifth inning single by freshman Kaitlyn Seger (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown).
The Mustangs also managed only one hit on March 28 in a 1-0 loss to Lebanon Valley.
In game two, the Mustangs fell short in erasing a 3-0 deficit with RBIs from Hoyt and Kahl in the six and seventh innings, respectively.
Kahl leads the team with 11 multi-hit games.
Junior Kristen Fassler (Owings Mills, Md./Western Tech) also went 2-for-3 with one run.
Stevenson returns home on Tuesday, April 16 when they host a non-conference doubleheader with Frostburg State beginning at 3:30 p.m. The Mustangs are participating in Strike Out Cancer and ask all fans to please wear pink.
