OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson women's lacrosse junior Leah Warner (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) shattered a 16-year-old school record scoring 13 points on nine goals and four assists, as the Mustangs defeat Elizabethtown 21-12, Wednesday afternoon at Mustang Stadium.

Stevenson (10-1, 3-0 MAC) has now won 10 consecutive games and are two wins away from tying the school record set in 2008 when the Mustangs went 12-5.

Krissy Busse scored nine points on nine goals in an 18-6 road victory over Messiah on Apr. 12, 1997.  Warner's 13-point performance is the second best in the Commonwealth Conference this year bested only by Hood's Caitlin Lawrence who had 14 points on 11 goals and three assists in a 20-5 home win over Waynesburg on February 23.

The NCAA Division III record for points in a game is 16, set three times, most recently by Ashley Hansbury of Curry on Apr. 13, 2010.

Warner opened and closed the scoring for the Mustangs, notching her 26th of the season 6:18 into the game in opening a 5-0 lead on the Blue Jays.  She also tallied her 150th career point with 5.4 seconds remaining in the game on an unassisted tally for her team-leading 34th goal this season.

Sophomore Kathryn Merrick (Bel Air, Md./Forest Hill) and junior Marissa Meiklejohn (Severn, Md./Old Mill) each added four goals.  Sophomore Amanda LeGar (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) secured eight draw controls and scooped five ground balls, both game-highs.

After a first half statistically dominated by the Mustangs, both teams managed to double their goal totals in the second half as play evened out.

In addition to Warner's single-game accomplishments and 99 career goals, Meiklejohn's fourth and final goal of the game with 11:49 remaining in the second half today was the 100th of her career, tying for eighth all-time with Kim Gorsch '04.  Meiklejohn also is 10th in career points with 126, six behind Gorsch for ninth.

Warner ranks career-wise 10th in goals with 99, third in assists with 51 and sixth in points with 150.

Elizabethtown (6-5, 2-1 MAC) was led by Emily Butler who had a goal and an assist along with five draw controls while Leigh Anne Flounlacker added two goals and two assists.

Stevenson returns to action Saturday when it travels to Albright for a Commonwealth Conference contest.  Opening draw is set for 1:00 p.m.
