Nick Rossi's Five Points Lead No. 5 Mustangs Past Lebanon Valley, 19-4

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's lacrosse senior Nick Rossi (Lutherville, Md./Towson) led the team with four goals while junior Chris Dashiell (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) added four assists to lead 15 scorers as the No. 5 Mustangs downed Lebanon Valley 19-4 Wednesday night at Mustang Stadium.

Stevenson (8-1, 3-0 MAC) raised their record to 101-2 all-time when allowing six goals or less.

The Mustangs scored the first nine goals of the game as Rossi, Dashiell and senior Peter Green (Hereford, Md./Hereford) all notched three points during the run.

The Dutchmen (5-3, 0-1 MAC) were led by Malik Pedroso who scored two goals, both in the second quarter just 2:28 apart, to end the shutout.  Pedroso entered the game tonight with 49 points and leading all of Division III in points per game with 7.00 and third in assists per game with 3.71.

Freshman Dylan Muti (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) netted his first career goal at the 1:02 mark of the first quarter while sophomore faceoff specialist Justin Buonomo (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit) earned his first point on an assist to freshman Matt Stango (Jupiter, Fla./Jupiter) with 7:43 to go in the third quarter.

Ian Schmid had a hand in the final two goals of the game for Lebanon Valley notching his 18th goal of the season, unassisted with 7:47 left in the game and helping Alex Beard earn his 17th of the season 2:36 later.

Freshman Dimitri Pecunes (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) picked up his eighth win of the season, making nine stops and allowing two goals in 39:04 while sophomore Kevin Cain (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) allowed the other two goals and made one stop in 15:43 between the pipes.  Junior Colin Rayburn (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) also made one save in 5:13 of work tonight.

Stevenson hosts No. 8 Lynchburg at Mustang Stadium Saturday night.  Game time versus the Hornets is 7:00 p.m. and will be televised on MPT2 over-the-air on Channel 67.2, Comcast 268 and Verizon Fios 480.

Lynchburg had a come-from-behind 9-8 overtime victory at No. 9 Washington & Lee tonight and held the Generals scoreless for the final 23:14 of the contest after trailing 8-3 going into the fourth quarter.
