HUNTINGTON, Pa. - The Stevenson men's volleyball team has just five losses this season, but two of them have come to Stevens as the No. 11 Mustangs were edged by the sixth-ranked Ducks in five sets Saturday at Juniata's Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center, 25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 17-25, 11-15.

Stevenson (10-5) did rebound with a 25-22, 25-13, 25-23 sweep of Hilbert.

After getting swept by Stevens in the first meeting back on February 16, the Mustangs managed two win the first two sets to take a commanding 2-0 lead. However, after posting 28 kills and a .305 hitting percentage in the first two sets, Stevenson was limited to a .012 percentage in the final three as it totaled just 25 kills and 24 errors.

The Ducks (16-5) had 24 total blocks in the game and totaled 47 digs compared to 37 for the Mustangs.

Junior Austin Jacoby (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) led Stevenson with 19 kills and a .333 hitting percentage while freshman Kyle Pottieger (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) tied a career-high with 10 kills. Sophomore Kyle Wisner (York, Pa./Central York) had seven kills and seven total blocks, including four solo.

Junior Jon Martin (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) had eight kills and a team-high 13 digs, but also had 10 attack errors and six service errors. Junior Adam Thatcher (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) had eight digs while sophomore David Moler (York, Pa./Central York) totaled 50 assists.

In the win over Hilbert, Pottieger, Wisner and freshman Patrick Schuyler (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) each had seven kills while Thatcher added nine more digs. Freshman Ryan Chinnici (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) had four kills and five digs and freshman Robert Wingert (Hanover Township, Pa./Holy Redeemer) totaled 20 assists and three block solos.

Stevenson begins its second season in the Continental Volleyball Conference on Wednesday when it opens conference play at Cairn beginning at 7:00 p.m.
