Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson women's basketball junior Kyarra Harmon posted her second career double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds but Virginia Wesleyan shot 42.3 percent from the three-point line en route to a 72-56 non-conference victory over the Mustangs Sunday at Owings Mills Gymansium.
The Mustangs (4-4) had their four-game win streak snapped, suffering their first lost in nearly a month. The team is 1-4 in non-conference games this season.
Stevenson also gave up a season-high 71 points.
The Marlins (7-2) hit seven three-pointers in the first half and shot 53.3 percent from the floor to lead 43-28 at the half.
Virginia Wesleyan pushed their lead to as many as 23 points in the second half.
Junior Kayla Kelly led all players with 20 points while adding seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Harmon also added four steals, two assists and one block.
Kelly Jones and Kerri-Leanne Taylor combined for nine three-pointers for Virginia Wesleyan while Andrea Paphites totaled 10 points, seven assist, five rebounds, four blocks and three steals.
The Marlins also totaled 20 assists on 27 made field goals.
Stevenson faces a quick turn around as they host Division II Salem International on Tuesday beginning at 7:00 p.m.
