YORK, Pa. - Stevenson men's tennis senior Ted Cooke (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill) totaled two wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, but the Mustangs suffered their third consecutive loss, dropping a CAC contest on the road at York (Pa.) Monday, 6-3.
Cooke totaled two of the three wins for Stevenson (4-6, 1-4 CAC), defeating Eric Cooperman in straight sets at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2 before teamming with senior Shawn Kelley (Weltersbach, Germany/Ramstein American) for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles over Cooperman and Matthew Rosenkrantz.
The third victory for the Mustangs came from freshman James Bishoff (York, Pa./York Catholic) who, playing in his hometown, defeated Tyler Cheatham at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4.
Kelley posted the most wins within his sets before falling at No. 3 singles against Philip Myers, 6-4, 6-3.
Stevenson resumes action on Tuesday when it travels to Towson to face local rival Goucher beginning at 3:30 p.m.
