YORK, Pa. - Stevenson softball senior Lisa Bilski (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) totaled three hits while sophomore Lindsay Kuczak (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) had two, but the Mustangs dropped both games of a CAC doubleheader to York (Pa.) Wednesday at Spartan Stadium, 8-1 and 7-3.
The Mustangs (12-20, 2-8 CAC) were limited to eight hits on the day as the Spartans' Brittany Therres totaled eight strike outs in picking up the win in both games inside the circle.
York (Pa.) jumped out to an 8-0 lead after two innings in game one, highlighted by a seven-run second inning.
Stevenson's lone run of the game came on an RBI-double by sophomore Kristen Fassler (Owings Mills, Md./Western Tech) that would allow Bilski to score from first.
In the second game, the Spartans (10-16, 6-4 CAC) held a 4-0 advantage after the first inning and 5-0 lead after the second.
A two-run fourth inning, cut the Mustangs deficit to three after an RBI-triple by Bilski and sacrifice fly by freshman Katie Diller (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg), but they wouldn't get any closer as York (Pa.) score two of the final three runs.
Bilski was 3-for-5 with a triple and one RBI. She also scored two of the team's four runs.
The Spartans were led by Hannah Hugel who went 7-for-8 on the day with three runs.
Stevenson wraps-up its CAC regular season with a doubleheader at Wesley on Saturday, April 14. First pitch is at 1:00 p.m.
