OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Led by 10 kills and a career-high 12 digs from freshman John Crinion (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice), the Stevenson men's volleyball posted its fourth-straight victory by a 3-0 margin as it defeated former NECVA rival New Jersey City 25-23, 25-23, 25-23 Friday at Owings Mills Gymnasium.

The Mustangs (9-8) have won six of their last eight and earned their first home win of the season.

Freshman David Moler (York, Pa./Central York) totaled a career-high six kills to go along with nine digs and 37 assists while freshman Kyle Wisner (York, Pa./Central York) added 10 kills and three block assists.

Friday's game featured 17 ties and two lead changes with 13 ties and two lead changes in the first set. Stevenson jumped out to an 11-6 advantage before the Gothic Knights rallied to tie the set at 12-12.

Neither team could pull away as there were eight more ties until the Mustangs scored back-to-back points on kills by Moler and sophomore Eddy Klepper (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) to take a 23-21 advantage. New Jersey City pulled within one at 24-23 before Crinion sealed the win with his fourth kill of the set.

Stevenson never trailed in the next two sets, leading by as many as five in the second and third. The Gothic Knights (10-10) would rally to within one, 24-23, in both, but a kill by sophomore Jon Martin (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) and an NJCU attack error clinched the two-point victories in both.

Klepper finished with eight kills while Martin had five. Sophomore Adam Thatcher (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) had a game-high 17 digs.
