Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. - Stevenson men's volleyball freshman Kyle Wisner (York, Pa./Central York) and freshman John Crinion (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) combined for 22 of the team's 37 kills as the Mustangs won their third-straight with a convincing 25-18, 25-13, 25-20 victory over Lancaster Bible Tuesday at Horst Athletic Center.
Stevenson (6-6) posted its second straight-set win in its last three games and have won nine of its last 11 sets.
Wisner had 13 kills, four shy of his career set last time out versus Endicott. Crinion added nine to go along with four digs. Freshman Patrick Devine (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) totaled a game-high 12 digs while senior Rob Kryger (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) had nine.
Freshman David Moler (York, Pa./Central York) and freshman Dan Massimini (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Township) combined for 35 assists with Massimini totaling a career-high 11.
Neither team hit the ball well in the first set as they combined for 18 attack errors, 11 of which came from Lancaster Bible. Five of Stevenson's final six points were the result of Charger errors.
The Mustangs totaled 17 of their 37 kills in a decisive second set where they posted a .394 hitting percentage. Meanwhile, Lancaster Bible (5-4) totaled just five kills while committing five errors. Leading 11-9, Stevenson closed the set with a 14-4 run following a timeout by head coach Jeff Blake.
In the third set, the Mustangs held a 13-12 lead before a 9-6 spurt pushed their advantage to four, 22-18. The Chargers' eighth error of the set and 24th of the game sealed the five-point win.
Stevenson returns to action next Wednesday, February 29 when it travels to former NECVA Western Division rival Eastern Mennonite. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
