Box Score

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Brittany Therres and Chelsea Bock combined to allow just five hits over while Karen Carr homered twice and drove in five runs to lead York (Pa.) to a 7-0 victory over Stevenson Sunday at Weinberg-Fine Stadium.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Mustangs (13-10, 3-5 CAC) who are two games behind the Spartans for fourth place in the CAC standings.

York (16-8, 5-3 CAC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first on a three-run homer by Carr before adding an RBI single by Michelle Barwick in the second and a solo home run by Carr in the third.

Meanwhile, Therres, who allowed four runs on four hits, including two home runs in a 4-3 loss to Stevenson on Wednesday, surrendered just two on Sunday while holding the Mustangs scoreless through four innings despite allowing four walks.

Bock allowed only three hits over the final three innings, including two in the bottom of the seventh as the Mustangs attempted a two-out rally with runners on first and second.

Five players all had one hit each for Stevenson led by senior Desirae Sullivan (Severna Park/Severna Park) who was 1-for-2 with a triple and a walk. Junior Brittany Rynkowski (Hampstead/North Carroll) was also 1-for-2 with a walk.

Senior Lisa Bilski (Forest Hill/Fallston) was 1-for-4 to extend her hitting streak to seven games which is four shy of the team-high of 11 set by Sara DiMeglio (Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) that was snapped on Friday in game two against Wesley.

Senior Julianne Roper (Baltimore/Western Tech) suffered just her second loss in her last seven decisions as she allowed nine hits and four walks over 7.0 innings.

Carr finished 2-for-3 with five RBIs for the Spartans while Barwick was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Sunday's game was the completion of a doubleheader that started on Wednesday after game two was called in the top of the third because of snow and sleet.

Stevenson travels to Mary Washington on Tuesday for a CAC doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
