OWINGS MILLS, Md. - A total of 15 players scored at least one point while 14 has at least one goal, including freshman Tyler Reid (Clinton, Conn./Xavier) who had a career-high four as the No. 2-ranked Stevenson men's lacrosse team won its ninth-straight at home with a 22-4 CAC victory over Hood Wednesday at Caves Athletics Complex.

The Mustangs (4-0, 2-0 CAC) scored at least 19 goals for the third time in four games this season and led 3-0 just 26 seconds into the contest and 6-0 after the first quarter. Stevenson has yet to allow a first quarter goal this season, outscoring its opponents, 19-0.

In three home games this season, the Mustangs have outscored their opponents, 61-12.

Senior Richie Ford (Baltimore/Towson) scored the game's first two goals in just 20 seconds, including the first only five seconds after the opening face-off, before senior Ray Witte (Annapolis/St. Peter and Paul) added his first of the year six seconds later to give the Mustangs a 3-0 lead with 14:34 left in the first quarter.

Reid then added back-to-back tallies, including the eventual game-winner with 5:59 left off an assist from senior Jimmy Dailey (Westminster/Winters Mill).

Dailey finished with a game-high seven points on three goals and four assists and has scored at least seven points in three of the team's first four games this season. The CAC-leader in points, goals and assists, he moved past former teammate and current assistant coach Steve Kazimer for third on the school's career goals list and now has 118.

Meanwhile, Reid is tied with Dailey for the team lead in goals after registering his third-straight game with at least three.

The Blazers (0-1, 0-1 CAC) would get on the board less than two minutes into the second quarter when Kris Miner scored off an assist from Trey Freeman to cut their deficit to 6-1.

However, the Mustangs scored the next 15-straight, including a season-high nine in the second quarter as they led 20-1 with 2:23 to play in the third. Dailey had three goals and two assists during the run while senior Neal Barthelme (Towson/Dulaney) added two goals and three assists.

Witte, sophomore Andrew Bishop (Lothian/Southern), freshman Chris Dashiell (Salisbury/Parkside), freshman J.P. Coombe (Annapolis/St. Mary's) and junior Dave Scott (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes) each netted their first goals of the season in the victory.

Dashiell finished with a career-high three points on one goal and two assists.

Defensively, Stevenson forced 33 Hood turnovers and had 17 caused turnovers, led by four from senior Evan Douglass (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) and three from sophomore Kyle Fendlay (Westminster/Winters Mill).

Douglass also added five ground balls as he broke former teammate Mike Simon's career record for caused turnovers and now has 88.

In goal, junior Ian Bolland (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) needed just two saves to remain unbeaten in six career starts, including four this season.

Stevenson travels to Massapequa, New York on Saturday where it will take on Western New England at John J. Burns Park beginning at 12:00 p.m. The Golden Bears are receiving votes in this week's USILA Division III Poll and lost the first meeting between the two schools last season, 11-5 in Owings Mills.
