Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The trio of sophomore Brett Burrier (Westminster/Winters Mill), senior Greg Woody (Baltimore/Mount St. Joseph) and freshman Stefon McCray (Baltimore/Archbishop Spalding) combined for 67 points and 26 rebounds as the Stevenson men's basketball team snapped a six-game losing streak with a 95-89 overtime victory versus Lehman Monday at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
The Mustangs (4-8) built a 12-point halftime lead after shooting 54.4 percent in the first half and committing just five turnovers.
Burrier totaled 20 of his career-high 29 points in the half, including 10-straight during a 14-2 over the final 4:12 as Stevenson built a 51-39 advantage.
However, the Lightning (6-6) rallied in the second half, forcing 11 Mustang turnovers and holding them to just 9-of-34 shooting while outscoring them by 12, 39-27. Victor Garcia scored 14 of his game-high 31 points in the half and Jonathan DeJesus added 11 points and six rebounds.
Lehman scored the first four points of overtime to take its largest lead of the game at 82-78, but Stevenson answered with an 8-1 run to take a three-point advantage. Woody and McCray each scored four points during the spurt and were 4-of-4 from the free throw line.
The Mustangs were a perfect 8-of-8 from the line in the extra period with Woody going 6-for-6. He finished the game 13-of-14 while Stevenson was 24-of-28 for 85.7 percent.
Burrier finished with 29 points and 12 rebounds for his second career double double. It was the 10th time in 12 games this season he has reached double figures and his fourth with at least 20 points.
Meanwhile, Woody added 26 points, marking the third time this season that the Mustangs had two players score at least 20 points in the same game. He also had five assists and four steals.
McCray totaled 12 points and 11 rebounds, both career-highs, for his first career double double.
Stevenson posted its ninth-highest point total in school history and the most since a 104-92 four-overtime victory at York (Pa.) on Dec. 6, 2008.
Garcia led three players in double figures for the Lightning and his 31 points were the most by a Stevenson opponent this season. DeJesus had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Samuel Batista added 17.
The Mustangs continues their three-game homestand on Wednesday with a CAC contest versus Hood beginning at 8:00 p.m.
