Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

MAHWAH, N.J. - The Stevenson men's volleyball team remained unbeaten in seven games this season, tying a school record for consecutive wins for the second-straight season, as the Mustangs defeated NYU Poly and NECVA Metro Division rival Ramapo Saturday in a tri-match at Ramapo's Bradley Center.

Stevenson (7-0), who also won seven-straight to start the 2010 season, defeated NYU Poly 25-16, 25-12, 23-25, 25-18 before downing Ramapo 13-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-23.

The win over Ramapo was the first in five career meetings against the Roadrunner who were ranked at No. 15 in the AVCA Division III Men's Coaches Top 15 Preseason Poll. The team finished the 2010 season ranked at No. 14 after advancing to its five consecutive NECVA Championship and 11th overall.

Stevenson was led by freshman Kalani Soeda (Kaneohe, Hawaii/LeJardin Academy) who totaled 23 kills, nine digs and four total blocks. He had 14 kills and seven digs versus NYU Poly, both career-highs, before adding nine kills and three blocks against Ramapo.

Arguably one of the team's biggest wins in its brief 10-year history, the Mustangs totaled 23 blocks against Ramapo. After losing the first set by 12 points and commiting 10 attack errors, Stevenson rallied for three-straight wins, posting a .237 hitting percentage with 39 kills compared to 35 errors and a .103 percentage for the Roadrunners.

Freshman Jon Martin (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) had a game-high 14 kills to go along with 10 digs for his first career double double. He also added six block assists.

Freshman Austin Jacoby (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) had 13 kills, but was limited by 15 errors, while freshman Adam Thatcher (Bel Air/C. Milton Wright) had 14 digs and sophomore Kyle Diller (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) had 41 assists.

Thatcher totaled 33 assists and four service aces as the team's primary setter versus NYU Poly and sophomore Christian Woznicki (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) had 10 kills, two shy of his career-high, to go along with six digs.

As a team, Stevenson totaled 47 kills and a .235 hitting percentage compared to 30 kills and a .067 percentage for the Blue Jays. Sophomore Trevor Parham (Philadelphia, Pa./John Dickinson) had five kills and a career-high eight digs while sophomore Rob Kryger (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) added six kills.

The Mustangs look for its second-straight signature win in program history on Wednesday, February 2 when they travel to Harrisonburg, Virginia to take on perennial power Eastern Mennonite. Stevenson is 0-16 all-time against the Royals, including 0-8 on the road.

Eastern Mennonite is currently in first place in the NECVA Metro Division with a 3-0 conference record after two wins over Kean and one versus Lancaster Bible.
