Stevenson, MD – The Mustangs men's tennis team suffered a
tough conference loss to rival St. Mary's on Saturday
afternoon.
Despite being down 3-5 Ted Cooke and Ben Petasky staged a
comeback to take #1 doubles 8-6 and kept the match close going into
singles.
Cooke got quick win at #1 singles to tie the match at 2-2 and
Shawn Kelley followed suit winning at #5 to put the mustangs up
3-2.
Kelley has continued his solid play, winning for the second day
in a row, defeating Kenny Nugent who was a second team CAC
performer last year.
Petasky got out to an early lead in #2 singles but could quite
fend off a comeback from his opponent and St. Mary's went on to
take the rest of the singles to take the match.
