ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Stevenson women's lacrosse junior Megan Weiss (Odenton/Seton) and senior Lauren Zegowitz (Gaithersburg/Damascus) combined to score six of the team's final eight goals as the No. 20 Mustangs rallied from a 9-7 deficit in the final 19 minutes en route to a 15-12 road victory at Elizabethtown Thursday.

The Mustangs (11-6) are now just one win away from tying the school record set in 2008.

Weiss finished finished with five points on four goals and one assists while Zegowitz had four goals to raise her career total to 148, only three shy of Heather Valunas' school record.

After Katie Caprinolo gave the Blue Jays (12-4) a 9-7 lead with 19:13 remaining, Zegowitz scored just 21 seconds later to start a 5-0 run for Stevenson over the next nine minutes that gave the tam its largest lead of the game.

Zegowitz scored three of the five goals while senior Kristyna Hnizda (Manchester/North Carroll) and junior Lisa Baker (Westminster/Westminster) added one each.

Caprinolo answered with back-to-back goals only 22 seconds apart to pull Elizabethtown within one at 12-11 with 8:13 left before Weiss scored what proved to be the game-winner at 5:47.

Caprinolo and Weiss scored the game's final six goals, netting three apiece.

Stevenson led 7-5 with just under three minutes to play in the first half before Stephanie Kreis scored with only 15 seconds remaining to ignite a 4-0 Blue Jay spurt that gave them their two-goal lead. Kreis and Caprinolo each had two goals during the run.

Baker totaled a game-high six points on two goals and four assists and now has 180 career points, seven shy of moving past Valunas into second on the school's all-time list behind Zegowitz's school record 205.

Weiss and Hnizda now have 95 career goals each. Only seven players have scored 100 goals in school history, including Zegowitz and Baker.

Hnizda finished with one goal, one assist and six draw controls and sophomore Jenny Schroeder (Severna Park/Severna Park) had 10 saves.

Caprinolo had five goals to lead Elizabethtown, who was 5-for-7 on free position shots. Kreis added two goals and one assist while Rachael Waldman made eight saves.

With its regular season finished, Stevenson will now wait to see if it is selected to its first ever NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship when the selections are announced on Monday, May 10.
