OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Lauriann Parker totaled nine points on seven goals and two assists to lead St. Mary's (Md.) to its first victory over a ranked opponent in six games this season as the Seahawks handed No. 17 Stevenson a 13-8 defeat Saturday at Caves Athletics Complex.

With the win and just one conference game remaining for each, St. Mary's (6-7, 4-2 CAC) secured the third seed in the CAC Women's Lacrosse Championship while the Mustangs earned the fourth seed and a home game in the first round on Saturday, April 17.

Despite its No. 17 ranking and 36 wins over the last four seasons, Stevenson has not beaten St. Mary's since joining the CAC, posting a mark of 0-4 against the Seahawks, including a record of 0-3 at home.

Junior Megan Weiss (Odenton/Seton) finished with one goal and one assist to lead Stevenson (8-5, 3-3 CAC) and with her goal at 13:23 of the second half, scored her 100th career point. It was also the 82nd goal of her career, moving her into 12th on the school's all-time list.

Meanwhile, senior Kristyna Hnizda (Manchester/North Carroll) also totaled two points and now has 96 for her career. She is just 10 goals shy of becoming the eighth player in school history to reach 100.

St. Mary's used a slow down, ball control offense in the first half to build a 5-2 lead as leading scorer Nora Fallen-Oben totaled three of her four points with two goals and one assist.

The Mustangs closed their deficit to 5-4 on back-to-back goals by junior Lisa Baker (Westminster/Westminster) and sophomore Kelli Battista (Elkridge/Long Reach), but Parker scored her second goal of the half with only 18 seconds remaining to push the lead back to two at the half, 6-4.

That would be as close as Stevenson would get the rest of the way as the Seahawks outscored the Mustangs by three in the second half while scoring the game's final three goals, including two by Parker after Stevenson pulled within 10-8.

Fallen-Oben finished with two goals and two assists while Kelsey Branch had three assists. Jamie Roberts made 14 saves, stopping seven in each half.

Senior Lauren Zegowitz (Gaithersburg/Damascus) added her 139th career goal in the second and was one of seven different goal scorers for the Mustangs. Sophomore Jenny Schroeder (Severna Park/Severna Park) had seven saves while sophomore Spencer Kraus (Mt. Airy/South Carroll) had three caused turnovers.
