FREDERICK, Md. - The men's tennis team picked up a crucial CAC
win today against Hood.
The Mustangs were able to take an important 2-1 lead after
doubles with the #2 team of Ben Petasky and Shawn Kelley and #3
team of Nick Dunlap and Shawn Hellman defeating their
opponents.
Ted Cooke picked up a straight sets win at #1 to push the
Mustangs ahead 3-1. Hood was able to take 2 and 3 singles to tie
the match at 3.
Needing to win 2 out of the last 3 matches, Shawn Hellman proved
to be the difference, down 2-5 in the first set, he stormed back to
win 10 straight games before closing out the match 7-5 6-1.
Nick Dunlap clinched the win at #6 with a convincing 6-2 6-4
win.
