FREDERICK, Md. - Stevenson men's lacrosse senior Trip Latta (Glenwood/Glenelg Country) scored a career-high four goals to lead nine different goal scorers as the No. 1-ranked Mustangs cruised to their 27th consecutive regular season victory, 20-4 over Hood Wednesday at Thomas Athletic Field.

It was also the 13th-straight regular season road victory for Stevenson (10-0, 2-0 CAC) and its ninth consecutive in the CAC.

With two assists, senior Steve Kazimer (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) became the second player in school history to reach 200. He now has 201 in three seasons and is 58 behind Eric Schmith's career record of 259 set from 1996-99.

Kazimer also has 107 career assists and trails Schmith's career record by 30.

Junior Richie Ford (Baltimore/Towson) totaled three goals and three assists and is just 11 shy of 200 points in his career after breaking Schmith's career goals record versus Roanoke.

In addition to Latta's four goals, junior Kenny Whittaker (Baltimore/Curley) added a career-high three tallies while sophomore Tom Montanye (Glyndon/Franklin) scored a career-best three points.

The duo were part of 15 different players who had at least one point for the Mustangs, including senior Caz Rubaky (Germantown/Seneca Valley), sophomore Justin Lea (Baltimore/Mount Saint Joseph) and freshman Aaron Taylor (Powell, Ohio/Dublin Scioto) who all picked up their first points of the season.

After Dominique Shorter, the Blazers' leading scorer, scored scored the game's first goal just 51 seconds into the game, Stevenson reeled off the next 16-straight to take a 15-goal lead with 1:42 left in the third quarter.

Eight different Mustangs scored during the run while Kazimer, Lea and freshman Zach Frattella (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) also had an assist.

Latta scored four of Stevenson's final seven goals with the last two coming back-to-back in the fourth quarter off assists from Taylor.

Junior Jimmy Dailey (Westminster/Winters Mill) had two goals and two assists while senior Andrew Harrington (Cambridge/South Dorchester) won his third-straight start, totaling five saves in just over 24 minutes.

Freshman Pete Wesselman (Charlotte, N.C./Providence) made his second career appearance, stopping the first three shots of his career and sophomore Kyle Siegel (Montauk, N.Y./East Hampton) saw his first action this season and made a career-high two saves.

Shorter had two goals to lead Hood (6-5, 0-2 CAC) who was outshot 62-22 and had 37 turnovers. The Mustangs also held a 49-22 advantage in ground balls and won 20-of-27 face-offs.

William Lane made 18 saves for the Blazers.

Stevenson returns home where it will host a No. 1 vs. No. 2 match-up with CAC rival Salisbury on Saturday at Caves Athletics Complex beginning at 2:00 p.m.
