MAHWAH, N.J. - Stevenson men's volleyball
senior David Lloyd (Germantown/Seneca Valley)
had six kills and seven digs while sophomore Dean
Massimini (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township)
totaled five kills, seven digs and 22 assists as the Mustangs
dropped a 30-23, 30-23, 30-17 decision to Ramapo Saturday at the
Bradley Center.
Stevenson (10-12) also lost to No. 4 Baruch, 30-27, 30-19,
30-17.
Sophomore Jason Matkowski (Warminster, Pa./William
Tennent) had a team-high eight kills against the
Roadrunners who posted an impressive .514 hitting percentage with
54 kills.
After dropping the first set, the Mustangs held a 5-2 lead in
the second, but a 7-2 run by Ramapo (16-7) gave the team a 9-7 lead
it would not relinquish.
Kevin Froehlich had 13 kills to lead the Roadrunners while Steve
Vahalla added 11. Kurt Backlund had a game-high 10 digs and Matt
Scott totaled 48 assists and eight digs.
In addition to a .149 hitting percentage, Stevenson was limited
by 11 service errors. Freshman Robert Kryger (Massapequa,
N.Y./Massapequa) added five kills and freshman
Christian Woznicki (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) had
four kills and three digs.

Stevenson concludes the regular season with a tri-match at
New Jersey City on Sunday. The Mustangs take on the host Gothic
Knights at 10:00 a.m., before battling York (N.Y.) at noon.
