STEVENSON, Md. - Eastern Mennonite's Cody
Kennedy totaled 11 kills and a .529 hitting percentage to lead the
Royals who hit .282 as a team en route to snapping a four-game
losing streak with a 30-23, 30-21, 30-22 victory over Stevenson
Tuesday night at Student Union Gymnasium.
Sophomore Jason Matkowski (Warminster, Pa./William
Tennent) totaled a game-high 12 kills to lead the
Mustangs (7-3, 2-2 NECVA West).
Playing its first game in 12 days, Stevenson totaled 29
attack errors while posting a minus-.072 hitting percentage. The
Mustangs also had 11 service errors and did not register any
blocks.
Senior David Lloyd (Germantown/Seneca Valley)
had six kills as he and Matkowski combined for 18 of the team's 23.
Matkowski also led the team with seven digs.
Freshman Christian Woznicki (Aliquippa,
Pa./Hopewell) had six digs while sophomore Dean
Massimini (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township)
and sophomore Jim Davis (Fallston/Calvert Hall)
each totaled five.
Massimini also had 16 assists.
Justin Reesor had nine kills for the Royals (3-4, 2-0 NECVA
West) while John Barry totaled four kills, 30 assists and four
digs.
Stevenson will have the next seven days off before returning to
action next Wednesday in a rematch at Eastern Mennonite. Game time
is at 7:00 p.m.
