OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Junior Geoff Hebert
(Lutherville/Dulaney) made nine saves, including four in
the fourth quarter where Lynchburg held an 11-4 edge in shots as

comeback attempt en route to a 12-10 victory Saturday at the Caves
Athletics Complex.

In addition to its 11-4 edge in shots in the fourth quarter, the
Hornets also forced nine turnovers and took advantage of
Stevenson's inability to clear the ball as the Mustangs were just
3-for-8 on clears in the quarter.
Ultimately, it was the play of Hebert and three caused turnovers
in the final 2:52 that enabled Stevenson to preserve its lead and
remain unbeaten.
The Mustangs outscored the Hornets 6-2 in the second
quarter to take a 9-3 halftime lead after two goals each from
sophomore Jimmy Dailey (Westminster/Winter Mills)
and junior Steve Kazimer (Syracuse,
N.Y./Henninger).
Kazimer also added two assists and finished the game two
goals and three assists while Dailey and senior Greg
Furshman (Miami, Fla./Towson) each had two goals.
Senior Brett Yoder (Parkton/Hereford) had a
goal and two assists for Stevenson.
After back-to-back man-up goals by Tyler Tolson, Lynchburg cut
the deficit to 3-2 with 13:44 remaining in the second quarter
before the Mustangs scored six-straight to take its largest lead of
the game at seven. Kazimer had a hand in four of the final five
goals.
Four of the Hornets' first five goals came with an extra-man
opportunity, including back-to-back tallied by Tolson and Aaron
Khouri in the first five minutes of the third quarter. Three of
Tolson's four goals were with a man advantage.
Only seven seconds after Khouri's goal, Furshman won
the faceoff and netted his second of the game and 14th of the
season.
Tolson had four goals and one assist for Lynchburg while Michael
Mundorf added a goal and three assists. Franc Cook had 21 saves for
the Hornets, including 12 in the first half.
