LANGHORNE, Pa. - Justin Brubaker totaled a
match-high 18 kills and had a .448 hitting percentage to lead
No. 7-ranked Philadelphia Biblical to a 30-21, 30-22, 30-17 victory
over the Stevenson University men's volleyball team Wednesday night
at the Mason Activity Center.
The Rams (5-5, 4-1 NECVA West) won their
third-straight since back-to-back home losses to No. 13
Eastern Mennonite and No. 4 Stevens. In addition to hitting
.272 as a team, Philadelphia Biblical was paced by a season-high 10
service aces.
The loss was the second consecutive for the Mustangs (5-5, 1-2
NECVA), both against teams in the top-10 and the fourth out of five
this season against a nationally-ranked opponent.
Stevenson committed 22 errors against only 26 kills and hit just
.045 for the match due in large part to the Rams' size at the net
where they had 12 total blocks.
Sophomore Jason Matkowski (Warminster, Pa./William
Tennent) just missed a double double with nine kills and
nine digs, both team-highs, while leading the team with a .263
hitting percentage.
Junior David Lloyd (Germantown/Seneca Valley)
added six kills and junior Steve Grossnickle (Perry
Hall/Calvert Hall) had seven digs. Freshman Dean
Massimini (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township)
totaled 23 assists.
Ben Fuller added nine kills and 10 digs for the
Rams while Leandro Dueck added 11 digs and eight kills.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday with two road matches on
Saturday at D'Youville and Hilbert.
