ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - St. Mary's (Md.) scored 31 points off of 27 Stevenson tunrovers, including 16 in the first half as the Seahawks won just their second game in seven this season with a 64-53 victory Saturday at Arc Arena.

Junior guard JaQuelia Conley (Columbia/Montrose Christian) led the Mustangs (1-6, 0-2 CAC) with 15 points, two shy of her career-high set at Penn State Berks last Saturday. Junior forward Kristen Steiner (Fallston/Fallston) finished with eight points, nine rebounds and four steals.

Stevenson jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first 48 seconds on a three-pointer from Conley and a lay-up by sophomore Amanda Craig (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) before a 9-2 run by St. Mary's gave the Seahawks their first lead on a jumper by Alex Wenger at 15:40.

Another three-pointer by Conley gave the Mustangs a 10-9 lead and back-to-back baskets by junior forward Jasmine Jarrett (Woodstock/Mount Hebron) and sophomore forward Daniela Poss (Brookeville/Good Counsel) increased the lead to three, 14-11 with 13:24 left in the opening half.

However, a three-pointer by Pul Sham and a three-point play by Jamie Roberts gave St. Mary's a three-point advantage at 9:11 and the team would never trail again.

The Seahawks held a six-point advantage at the break, 31-25, and led by as many as 13 en route to their second win in the last three games after starting the season with four-straight losses.

Craig totaled six points, five rebounds and seven assists for the Mustangs, but had nine turnovers. Poss had seven points and four rebounds.

Shum led St. Mary's (2-5, 1-1 CAC) with a game-high 22 points, 18 of which came on six three-pointers while Steph Saint-Aubin had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Roberts added 10 points and four steals and Wenger had eight points and nine rebounds.

Stevenson will be idle for 14 days before making its home debut on Saturday, December 19 in a CAC contest versus Hood. Game time is at 5:00 p.m.
