New York, NY- The Mustangs completed their 6 game weekend at Mt.
St. Vincent in New York with wins over Medger Evers and the host
Dolphins raising their record from 5-8 to 10-9.
Everyone got a chance to contribute in the win against Medger
Evers (3-0). David LLoyd had four aces and five
kills. Freshman Nick Rizzuti had 6 kills and 6
digs as well as two blocks. Freshman Billy
Despeaux took advantage of his chance to play the front
row and added 7 kills. The Mustangs had 12 aces in the match and 46
digs.
Mt. St. Vincent's looked to demonstrate the toughness of the
Metro Division but were overwhelmed with an unusually powerful
offensive performance by the Mustangs. JR Jackson
had a career day with 21 kills and only two errors giving him a
hitting percentage of .593. Jackson also
contibuted to the defensive effort with 2 solo blocks and 5
digs.
Ryan McDowell had an excellent match as well with
8 kills in 11 attempts for a hitting percentage of .727.
Steve Grossnickle completed his best weekend with
a .300 hitting percentage and 10 more digs. Alex
Ness added 5 digs and hit .333 with 6 kills. The Mustangs
had only nine hitting errors on the day to give them a team
percentage of .394 (46-9-94)
