Mustangs Fall To Division Rival

Harrisonburg, VA - The Mustangs traveled to Eastern Mennonite University looking to avenge the loss they suffered at home last week to the same team. The Mustangs battled hard but could not overcome the Royals, falling in three games. The Mustangs put up a strong performance in each game, scoring more than twenty points in each one.

In the first game, the Mustangs lost out 30-21 but in the next two games VJC ran their opponents close. The second game was neck and neck until the end when EMU pulled out a 30-27 win. During the final game, the Mustangs made a strong effort to keep the match going into a fourth, but the Royals edged the men 30-25 to end the contest in a sweep.

JR Jackson (Havre de Grace, MD/Havre de Grace) led the team with ten kills and three digs, while David Lloyd (Germantown, MD/Calvert Hall) put away another seven kills and aided the Mustangs' defense with a total of three digs. Ben Leatherman (Glen Arm, MD/ Calvert Hall), Steve Grossnickle (Perry Hall, MD/Calvert Hall), and John Hall (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) each had six digs for the team high.

Men's volleyball (5-8, 1-3) will be back in action at home on Friday February 29th and Saturday March 1st when they host a quad-match against New Jersey City University, Hilbert College, Kings College and Philadelphia Biblical University
