Box Score Greensboro, NC- The Mustangs competed in their
first game of the season as they traveled to #4 Guilford College.
The Mustangs fell 87-52, starting their record at 0-1.
Villa Julie put themselves on the board first with a jumper by
sophomore Greg Woody (Baltimore, MD/Mt.
St. Joeseph). They maintained their lead until the 13:37
mark in the first half. The half came to end with the Guilford
Quakers leading by a small margin of 38-35. The Mustangs produced a
63-point shooting average of 60% and an overall field goal
percentage of 45.2%.
The Quakers reentered the court displaying their prowess as a
nationally ranked team. They went up by 17 points in the first ten
minutes of the second half. Guilford continued to govern the court
for a final score of 87-52.
Woody led the Mustangs with 20 points,
while sophomore Mike Turner
(Baltimore, MD/Polytechnic) tallied 10 with two
steals.
The Mustangs return to the court when they compete in the first
round of the Provident Pride of Maryland Tournament on November 20
at McDaniel with an 8:00 tip-off.
