Aly Erickson scored the game-winning goal for FSU (4-8) with just 45 seconds left in overtime to beat Villa Julie (3-8) 3-2, Wednesday afternoon at Frostburg State University.

Villa Julie got their first goal of the game from freshman Rachel Manly (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) just 11:17 into the contest. Manley's goal was unassisted and came off a penalty corner.  The goal was Manley's second goal of the year.

FSU tied the match one minute later when Brittany Russell scored an unassisted goal.

The two teams would go into halftime with the game all tied at one.

The Bobcats scored their second goal in the 63rd minute when Carly Cross put the ball in the back of the net.

Cross's goal looked to be the game winner but with just under one minute left to play in regulation, the Mustangs' Michelle Muir (Princess Anne, MD/Washington) netted the equalizer with just 59 seconds left. Muir's goal tied the game at 2-2 and sent the game into overtime. The goal was Muir's first of her career.

In overtime both teams battled with great intensity and play was going back and forth. Erickson then scored the game winner with only :45 seconds left to lift Frostburg State to the 3-2 victory.

Junior goalie Kaitlin Brzozowski (Bel Air, Fallston) was credited with fifteen saves in the losing effort.

VJC returns to the field on October 6 when they travel to the College of Notre Dame. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm.
