Ryan O’Hara joined the Athletic Communications staff as the Athletic Communications Coordinator on August 25th, 2025.
For the past three years, O’Hara worked around sports. He freelanced with a professional basketball team in England, the Newcastle Eagles, and volunteered with South Shields FC International Academy, as a social media officer. He also presented and produced a sports radio show, then took on the role of Deputy Head of Sport at the station. Last year, O’Hara freelanced NFL content for VAVEL, and with Bucknell University Athletics.
This summer O’Hara worked the Club World Cup providing ADC commentary at Lincoln Financial Field and MetLife Stadium, including covering the final.
In July, he graduated from the University of Sunderland, in the UK, with a First Class Honors BA (Hons) Sports Journalism degree in July 2025.
