Meghan joined the Stevenson Mustangs Athletic Department in 2025 and is currently in her first year as the Assistant Athletics Communication Director. In her role, she oversees communications efforts for men’s soccer, cross country, football, men’s and women’s basketball, indoor and outdoor track and field, and softball, while continuing to support the department’s 29 NCAA Division III programs.
Prior to Stevenson, Barone built a strong foundation in sports communications through various roles at Centenary University (NJ) and Fairleigh Dickinson University–Florham Campus. A 2022 graduate of Centenary, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Social Media Marketing. A two-sport athlete in cross country and basketball, Barone also interned in the Sports Information Office under Director Megan O'Brien, helping to promote the Cyclones’ 15 NCAA Division III teams.
Barone continued her professional journey at FDU-Florham, first as a graduate assistant in the Sports Information Department while pursuing her master’s degree in Sports Management. She quickly advanced within the department, being promoted to Assistant Sports Information Director at the start of the 2023-24 season, and again to Interim Sports Informations Director for the 2024-25 season.
During her time at FDU-Florham, Barone was responsible for the daily operations of the Sports Information Office, managing media relations, game day coverage, live streaming, statistical operations, website and social media content, and more for the Devils’ 23 Division III programs. She played a key role in the planning and execution of major departmental events such as the Devils Hall of Fame Ceremony, Robert T. Shields Golf Outing, 42 Hours of Giving, and Devils Athletics Giving Day.
In recognition of her contributions to the field, Barone was honored with the Bill Esposito Award by the Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM), which celebrates outstanding newcomers in athletic communications (2022).
Barone completed her master’s degree in Sports Management in December 2024 before transitioning to her current role at Stevenson, where she hopes to bring energy, experience, and a student-athlete mindset to the Mustangs' communication efforts.
