John Urdahl

John Urdahl rejoined the Stevenson University track and field coaching staff in 2025, returning after previously serving with the Mustangs from 2018 to 2024. During his initial tenure, Urdahl helped elevate the throws program to national recognition, coaching multiple student-athletes to NCAA Championship appearances, including First and Second Team All-Americans. Under his guidance, Mustang throwers set numerous school, conference, and regional records, highlighted by a top-10 all-time Division III performance in the weight throw.

In addition to his success with throwers, Urdahl also worked with the horizontal and vertical jumps groups, where his athletes consistently qualified for and placed at conference and regional meets. Known for his athlete-centered approach, he develops individualized training programs designed to maximize performance while fostering discipline, confidence, and teamwork.

Before joining the Stevenson staff, Urdahl coached at Northern High School in Maryland, where his athletes earned multiple conference, regional, and state championships. A Salisbury University graduate, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Community Health with a minor in Exercise Science.
