After leading the Stevenson men's volleyball team to a schoolrecord for wins in three of his four seasons as the head coach,Blake joins the women's volleyball team as an assistant coach in2010.
Blake brings nine years of head coaching experience to headcoach Dave Trumbo's squad, including four at the helm of theMustang men's program and five at Calvert Hall College High School.
In four seasons as the men's head coach, Blake has totaled 61wins while leading Stevenson to postseason appearances in 2006 and2009. Last year, the men totaled a school record 20 wins andadvanced to the finals of the ECAC Division III South RegionChampionship.
The Mustangs also finished fifth at the NECVA Western DivisionTournament a year ago in the team's first appearance since 2006. OnMarch 1, Stevenson upset Medaille 3-2 after the Mavericks wereranked at No. 15 in the Bison/AVCA Division III Men's Coaches Top15 Poll on February 17.
Blake also led the Mustangs to the postseason in 2006 when theyadvanced to the NECVA Championship and finished with a then-schoolrecord 15 wins as the team went 15-11.
After struggling to a 9-21 record in 2007 in which the teamplayed 17 of their 30 matches versus top-25 competition, Stevensonrebounded to post a school record 15 wins in 2008, finishingBlake's third season with a 15-17 mark.
In addition to his coaching duties at Stevenson, Blake hasbeen a teacher at Calvert Hall for over 20 years. In five seasonsas the head coach of the Cardinals, he led the boys'volleyball team to four MIAA semifinal games and won back-to-backconference championships in 2001 and 2002.
Blake also has coaching experience in football, baseball,basketball and lacrosse at the high school and recreationlevels. He also works as a baseball umpire.
A graduate of Towson, Blake and his wife live in Calvert Hall.
