Darion Ferreira joins the Mustang Men’s Soccer staff ahead of the 2024 season. Ferreira joins new head coach Charlie Johnson and returning assistant coach Brad Sellar.

Ferreira comes most recently from Grinnell College (Iowa) where he served as head assistant coach and helped the Pioneers to nine victories and a Midwest Conference final. Prior to his stint at Grinnell, Ferreira served as an assistant coach with New Jersey’s FC Europa before becoming a head coach at TSF Academy, a top soccer club in the United States.

Ferreira played his own collegiate soccer career at Penn State Harrisburg, helping them to a NEAC championship in the 2019 season and a United East Conference title in 2021. In both championship seasons, the team tied for most single-season wins in program history with 15. He graduated in 2021 with degrees in Criminal Justice and Political science.

In addition to his college coaching experience, Ferreira possess multiple United Soccer Coaches 11v11/Pre-National Foundations diplomas as well as a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level 2 diploma. He also served as a referee for six years as part of the New Jersey Referee Committee.
