The 2026-’27 season marks Madi Nichols’ her fourth season as an Assistant Coach with the Mustangs.
In her time with the Mustangs, Nichols has overseen both the forward group and the defensive core, where multiple players have received MAC weekly honors. Currently she focuses her attention on the development of the team’s forwards, and plays a significant role in the overall guidance of the team as a whole.
Nichols comes to Stevenson from the Buffalo Beauts of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), where she played 22 games and registered three points as the youngest player on the team. She was re-signed to the Beauts before the league’s transfer under the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL).
Prior to her professional career, Nichols enjoyed a productive four years at fellow NCAA Division III institution Nazareth University. She appeared in 86 games for the Golden Flyers, racking up 37 goals and 59 assists for 96 career points and a cumulative rating of +74. In her senior season alone, she scored a single-season career-high 18 goals, five of which were game-winners, and a career-high 28 assists.
The Trinity, Florida native left Nazareth ranked second all-time in career assists and points as well as third overall in career goals. As a senior, she helped Nazareth to their first-ever UCHC Championship title and NCAA tournament berth.
Nichols hold an USAW certification and works with teams on campus in the strength and conditioning sector.
