Corey Pietrzyk enters his fifth year with the Mustangs come the 2026 season.
Pietrzyk currently serves as the Mustangs’ Defensive Coordinator, Punt and Field Goal Block Coordinator, and Video Coordinator. A respected defensive mind with extensive Division III experience, Pietrzyk has helped establish Stevenson as one of the top defensive units in the MAC while contributing heavily to recruiting, player development, and game preparation.
Since taking over as defensive coordinator in 2023, Pietrzyk has overseen all aspects of the Mustangs’ defense, including game planning, practice organization, scouting reports, install meetings, depth chart management, and defensive play-calling. Under his leadership, Stevenson has produced multiple All-MAC selections and consistently ranked among the conference’s top defensive units. In 2023, the Mustangs posted a 7-4 record and earned a MAC-Centennial Bowl appearance while allowing just 18.9 points per game and finishing ninth nationally in red zone defense at 55 percent. His special teams units also made a major impact, recording five blocked field goals during the season.
In addition to his defensive responsibilities, Pietrzyk serves as the program’s Video Coordinator, overseeing all film operations, staff coordination, film exchange, and SkyCoach management. He has also played an important role in the program’s recruiting efforts, managing territories in New Jersey and Delaware while organizing alumni and parent engagement initiatives, including fundraising events and golf outings.
Prior to returning to Stevenson, Pietrzyk spent five seasons at Johns Hopkins University, where he held multiple defensive coaching roles for one of the nation’s premier Division III programs. He most recently served as Defensive Pass Game Coordinator, Linebackers Coach, and Kickoff and Field Goal Block Coordinator from 2022-23. In that role, he assisted with weekly coverage schemes, defensive game plans, practice organization, and play-calling while coaching All-Centennial Conference linebackers Duncan Van Kouteren and Matt Dubois. The Blue Jays finished 10-1 and captured the Centennial-MAC Bowl Championship during his tenure in the role.
From 2019-22, Pietrzyk coached linebackers and assisted with special teams while coordinating the offensive scout team. He handled linebacker meetings and film review while contributing extensively to defensive game planning, analytics, scouting reports, and sideline communication on game days. During the 2021 season, Johns Hopkins went 10-2, won the Centennial Conference Championship, and advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. In 2019, the Blue Jays posted an 8-3 record and earned a Centennial-MAC Bowl Championship.
Pietrzyk began to broaden his collegiate coaching career at Johns Hopkins as the defensive line coach and offensive scout team coordinator during the 2018 season. That year, the Blue Jays advanced to the NCAA National Semifinals and finished with a 12-2 record and a Centennial Conference title.
A familiar face to the Stevenson program, Pietrzyk first started his collegiate coaching career by joining his alumni the Mustangs staff in 2017 as linebackers coach shortly after graduating from the university. In that role, he assisted with linebacker development, film study, and recruiting efforts throughout Maryland and New Jersey.
Pietrzyk earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Stevenson University in 2017. Throughout his coaching career, he has developed a reputation for his attention to detail, defensive creativity, and ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes both on and off the field.
