Dave Gage was named the third head coach in Stevenson history on September 14, 2017.

  • Posted a career best 21-17 record in 2023 and the first winning record season for Stevenson (excluding 2020) since 2013
  • Started 2020 with a 7-5 record before season ended
  • Posted second straight 20-win season in 2019
  • Earned his 100th career victory on March 23, 2019
  • In Gage's first season (2018) the Mustangs' finished 20-20 overall, marking the Mustangs' the first time since 2013 finishing .500 or better in a season
  • Junior James Wiercinski was named MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Year
  • The Mustangs were off to their best start since 2013 in 2020 (7-1) before the shortened season.

  • Starting second baseman and team captain
  • Led the Mountaineers to the NECC playoffs all three years, the first-ever appearances in program history
  • For Gage's three seasons on the SVC baseball team, he was the starting second baseman for the mountaineers and served as one of the team's captains during his final three seasons
  • A career .305 hitter, Gage holds many school records, as he is the school’s all-time leader in saves (9) and hit by pitches (82)
  • Gage has the highest career on-base percentage (.480) in school history and ranks third in games played (139) for the Mountaineers
  • The valedictorian of the 2010 graduating class at Southern Vermont, Gage completed his undergraduate degree in sport management in three years
